“I’m grateful to be a recipient of the BTG Interventional Oncology/Immuno-Oncology Research Grants. It’s an exciting time to be an interventional oncology physician scientist, with amazing advances happening in interventional oncology and immune-oncology every day. This grant provides a remarkable opportunity to combine these two fields with high impact, basic/translational research.“
"Funding from the Society of Interventional Oncology enables us to study the combined effect of immunotherapy and cryoablation. This novel approach has the potential to be practice changing and expand the indications for cryoablation beyond local therapy. A strong efficacy signal would change the practice paradigm in that interventional oncologists might be asked to perform cryoablation for the increasing number of patients receiving immunotherapy."
