SIO Submits Recommendations to NCCN Palliative Care Panel SIO has submitted recommendations to the NCCN Palliative Care Panel. Submitted by William Rilling, MD, FSIR; Ernesto Santos, MD; and Sean Tutton, MD, FSIR, FCIRSE alongside NCCN Guidelines Chair Amy Deipolyi, MD. This Letter requests the NCCN Palliative Care Guidelines panel review the recommendation for Interventional Radiologist (IR) on the panel in addition to a recommendation to include image-guided ablation and cementoplasty as considerations to palliate painful bone metastases. Acute Kidney Injury in Adult Patients With Hepatocellular Carcinoma After TACE or Hepatectomy Treatment Frontiers in Oncology via PubMed Acute kidney injury (AKI) is one of the most common complications in patients with cancer, yet the specific reasons, mechanisms, and the influence of AKI are not clear in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) after treatment. This meta-analysis aimed to find out the risk factors and the impact on mortality of AKI in adult patients with HCC after treatment using available published data.

Improving Adjuvant Liver-Directed Treatment Recommendations for Unresectable Hepatocellular Carcinoma: An Artificial Intelligence-Based Decision-Making Tool JCO Clinical Cancer Informatics via PubMed Liver-directed therapy after transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) can lead to improvement in survival for selected patients with unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). However, there is uncertainty in the appropriate application and modality of therapy in current clinical practice guidelines. The aim of this study was to develop a proof-of-concept, machine learning (ML) model for treatment recommendation in patients previously treated with TACE and select patients who might benefit from additional treatment with combination stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) or radiofrequency ablation (RFA).
