Research Steering Committee 

This committee is responsible for collaborating with the Board and staff liaisons on key strategies, challenges, and needs in order to provide insight on existing and future SIO research priorities including research grants, registries, and clinical trials. The SIO Research Steering Committee oversees all SIO research priorities for the year, including oversight and delegation of any appropriate projects to the Clinical Trials Committee, Guidelines Committee, and the Publications Committee.

Publications Committee

This committee is responsible for collaborating with the Research Steering Committee and staff liaisons on key strategies and needs in order to provide insight on existing and future SIO publications. Specifically, the Publications Committee oversees all whitepapers authored by the SIO, manages case spotlights for publications in SIO publications, reviews guideline summaries annually, and oversees content on any SIO newsletters. Oversees any writing groups organized as a result of funding requests, unless otherwise directed by the Research Steering Committee.

Program Planning Committee

This subcommittee is responsible for developing the annual meeting scientific program and any pre-conference associated sessions, inclusive of international partnerships. The International Annual Meeting Committee additionally plans all social events in coordination with staff and provides critical input to the Corporate Relations Director for industry-sponsored events.

This committee is responsible for collaborating with the Board of Director and staff liaisons on key strategies and needs for current and future SIO year-round educational programming. This committee owns the development of live and enduring educational content through IO University and SIO Master Classes and any international programming collaborations.

Clinical Trials Subcommittee 

The Clinical Trials Subcommittee is responsible for soliciting, vetting, and reviewing any clinical trials call for proposals through SIO. All clinical trial reviews will take place in collaboration with the oversight of the Research Steering Committee. 

Guidelines Subcommittee

The Guidelines Subcommittee is responsible for submitting annually any NCCN guidelines as directed by the Research Steering Committee. This committee is responsible for organizing up to 12 workgroups according to guidelines submission deadlines annually. Additionally, collaboration with IO representatives on NCCN panels and coordination between institutional deadlines is a component of this committee’s charge. 

Grants Subcommittee

The Grants Subcommittee is responsible for operationalizing and reviewing an annual Call for Grant Proposals.
